I have received a German Apple Gift Card (Die Geschenkkarte für alles von Apple), and I am trying to use it to watch some programmes on Apple TV.
Note that I do not possess any Apple Device nor had any Apple account previously to receiving this card. So I have created an account on Apple TV using my browser and tried to add the card to it. My account settings (Einstellungen) offer an option to redeem a code (Werbecode einlösen); however, I am not sure this is the right function, because the text on the button does not mention gift cards. I have not found any other options to load a code in my account settings.
Anyhow, when I click on this button, the browser navigates to Apple’s Redeem Offer page and, after I enter the code, I get the error message:
Cannot Redeem Code
The code you entered could not be found.
Here is what I checked:
- I checked the code on the card about 20 times, and it matches.
- The card is still valid: There is a text on it saying that the code does not expire.
- I have a receipt confirming that the card has been activated.
- I have set the country to Germany in my Apple TV account, and the card was purchased in Germany, so the country is OK.
Is there anything else I should check or do in order to load my card on my account?
