Kyndryl is adding more services to its Distributed Cloud lineup, expanding how it works with Microsoft’s cloud stack.
The update aims to help companies manage and modernise their tech setups more easily – especially when juggling hybrid, multicloud, edge, and IoT systems.
The new services have been designed to fit into existing IT setups without a major overhaul being necessary. Kyndryl’s team will help businesses make the most of Microsoft tools like Azure Arc, Local, and Cloud.
The tools make it easier to shift between environments, manage assets in different locations, and handle growing infrastructure without breaking operations. The goal is to improve how companies deploy and run applications, especially in areas like virtualisation and virtual desktops.
Microsoft sees this as a step forward in making its Azure tools more useful in real-world scenarios.
The new Kyndryl services cover a range of uses. In retail, they support digital signage, AI video, asset tracking, and real-time promotions. In manufacturing and energy, they back projects like digital twins, predictive maintenance, and anomaly detection. In healthcare, they can help with patient care using AR-assisted surgery, AI-based image analysis, and secure 5G for hospital data systems.
At the core of the offering are three focus areas:
- Centralised security and operations.
- Faster app development and scaling.
- Unified data management: With tools like Azure Fabric, teams can pull in data from different sources, run AI models, and manage devices from one place.
Kyndryl and Microsoft have been working together since 2021. The updated toolset builds on the alliance by combining Kyndryl’s cloud operations skills with Kubernetes and Microsoft’s software stack including Azure Arc and the upcoming Windows Server 2025.
Kyndryl’s recent financial results show the company reporting a profit and and a rise in stock price. The company was recently named a Leader in IDC’s 2025 MarketScape for hybrid IT consulting and integration services in recognition of the company’s support of customers.
