Today at WebexOne in San Diego, you will see an incredible convergence of vision, innovation, and community. This event is not just a showcase—it’s a testament to how Cisco is reimagining the future of work and building solutions for the AI era.
We’re firmly in the era of agentic AI. To keep the pace of adoption and innovation in AI cooking, we’re focused on solving a few key challenges.
First, AI is infrastructure constrained. It’s hungry for power, computing, and network bandwidth. Second, it presents a whole new set of security threats, creating a trust deficit for users and enterprises alike. And third, there’s an emerging data gap, where we’re struggling to effectively apply AI to all the different data types and sources in our organizations.
At Cisco, we’re addressing these challenges head-on. We provide the critical infrastructure for the AI era – including high-bandwidth low-latency networking, AI safety and security, a data platform that AI-first companies need to thrive, and a collaboration platform in Webex that connects people across your organizations to deliver critical employee and customer experiences.
The collaboration platform at the heart of Cisco’s AI strategy
Make no mistake, the Webex portfolio of products is a foundational pillar of Cisco’s strategy to serve as the critical infrastructure for the AI era. Every day, I witness how our collaboration portfolio transforms the way people connect, create, and get work done.
With AI embedded deeply and natively across Webex, we are solving real-world challenges—delivering smarter meetings, automating routine tasks, and ensuring security and reliability at scale.
In fact, in the agentic era of AI, there will soon be more machines in the workforce than humans. That’s how we are going to deliver on the promise of 8 billion people amplified to have the throughput capacity of 80 billion.
Underlying this shift is a new future for collaboration that will fluidly combine people-to-people communication, people-to-AI communication, and AI-to-AI communication through agents.
We call our vision for this dynamic form of collaboration Connected Intelligence, and it has a few key principles:
- It leverages AI to eliminate the impact of distance and time between people working together, a concept we call Distance Zero.
- It features agentic teammates capable of working autonomously and together with both people and other agents, often in real-time and in multi-player mode.
- It’s built on open ecosystems that have interoperability as the baseline expectation so that agents can work cross-platform to knit workflows together across different systems.
Everything we announced at Webex One is animated by the idea of Connected Intelligence, and I’m incredibly proud of the team bringing it to life. From a host of new agents in the Webex Suite, to an all new RoomOS, deeper interoperability with Microsoft Teams and Zoom on our devices, and AI insights for contact center supervisors, there is no shortage of new innovations to learn all about.
We couldn’t be more excited to be building the workplace of today, for the workforce of tomorrow.
