Enterprise network operations teams face constant pressure to maintain visibility, ensure business continuity, and manage growing complexity across environments. When data is spread across multiple tools and domains, teams spend too much time piecing together context, reconciling information, and working through alert noise instead of resolving issues quickly.

While the challenge is not new, it remains difficult in practice when tools do not connect cleanly and data is not normalized across domains. Fragmented network data leads to slower operations. That creates drag not just for IT teams, but also for the business functions that depend on resilient digital experiences.

The latest version of Cisco Enterprise Networking App (ENA) for Splunk is designed to help address that challenge. It gives enterprise teams a practical way to unify network operations across Cisco environments, improve observability, and work from a more consistent operational view.

Unified visibility with a single data lake

ENA provides dashboards and saved searches across Cisco networking solutions, supporting cross-domain observability. As part of the ENA suite, add-ons for Meraki, Catalyst, ThousandEyes, and other Cisco technologies collect and normalize data across the Cisco environment.

At the center of this approach is a single Splunk data lake that organizes and aligns data from:

    • Catalyst Center for campus network visibility
    • Meraki for cloud-managed networks
    • ThousandEyes for monitoring internet and application health
    • Cisco SD-WAN for secure wide-area network edges
    • Cyber Vision and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for security data
    • Traditional syslog and NetFlow from Cisco IOS devices

By standardizing information across these domains, ENA helps teams move from fragmented network data to a more unified operational view. That makes it easier to connect the dots, automate responses, and build a stronger foundation for AI-driven operations.

Smarter operations with Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI)

For teams using ITSI, ENA includes ready-to-use content for enterprise networking. The new ITSI Content Pack includes:

    • Automated device discovery
    • Unified dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Integrated alerts to help teams identify and fix issues faster

These capabilities help reduce alert overload and streamline troubleshooting, making network operations more efficient and manageable at scale.

    Faster, more reliable data ingestion

ENA also delivers significant improvements to its Splunk add-ons, helping teams ingest and manage data more efficiently.

    • Meraki add-on upgrades: The latest version emphasizes scalability and streamlined configuration. Improved support for webhooks provides a more efficient, real-time method for ingesting event data than traditional polling. The add-on also includes enhanced dashboard API integration, making it easier to pull inventory and status data and keep Splunk aligned with the Meraki dashboard with less manual effort.
    • Catalyst add-on: This version includes a new dashboard for resource usage and better syslog parsing, helping teams focus on the metrics that matter most.

With these updates, ENA provides clearer operational context so teams can move beyond raw event volume and better understand what requires action.

Built to support modern network operations

Better network operations start with better context. ENA for Splunk is designed to help bring network data together across Cisco environments so teams can improve observability, reduce operational friction, troubleshoot faster, and work from a more consistent view of the network.

Explore the app and add-ons to see how Cisco ENA for Splunk can help simplify network operations and improve visibility across your environment.
