The Studio relentlessly mocks Hollywood and the film industry. It stayed popular during its first season, but that wrapped up months ago. This didn’t stop plenty of viewers from tuning back in after the show garnered an amazing 13 Emmy awards earlier this month to once again make it one of the most popular series on streaming, according to a company that track ratings.
The Studio gets strong ratings skewering Hollywood
While many of the highest-rated series on Apple TV+ are dramas and sci-fi, the streaming service offers plenty of comedies, too. Shrinking is a good example, and of course, there’s Ted Lasso. Another of Apple’s successful forays into the genre is The Studio, starring Seth Rogen, who also serves as co-creator, writer and director.
Movie and TV search engine JustWatch publishes a weekly ratings list of the 10 most popular series in U.S. on streaming services, and The Studio sits right up there at No. 5 for the week of September 15 through September 21. This despite the series finale premiering in May — winning the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series will do that.
Ratings estimates from companies like JustWatch are necessary because streaming services rarely reveal how many people tune in to their offerings
